KATHRYN J. GLASS, MD: Medical Director
As a family practice physician since 1995, I have always enjoyed the broad scope of patient care in my work, including doing office procedures, and I see patient education and prevention of health problems as a core of my efforts. In 2007, I became interested in providing aesthetic services and learned how to treat patients with Botox and cosmetic fillers. Since that time, I have also become trained to do sclerotherapy, injections to reduce the appearance of spider veins on the legs, and gained a great deal of knowledge in the areas of cosmetics and skin care products, laser, and facial treatments such as peels.
I enjoy being the Medical Director of Medical Spa 7 because it brings patients of all ages to my office, it allows me to coordinate their skin and wellness care and cosmetic treatments for the maximum potential we can provide at the spa, and it allows me to interact with our exceptional staff of aestheticians, nail technicians, and massage therapists. I find it extremely satisfying to teach patients about injectable treatments I can provide as well as to counsel them on skin care products for home and other treatments available at the spa. I love the art of using Botox and fillers to reduce the effects of aging and to see the dramatic results our patients have.

As a very busy Ob Gyn, I never really considered learning about the advantages and benefits of offering Botox to my patients. My interests were mostly focused on high risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Earlier this year, I was approached by Medical Spa 7 about the possibility of providing these services. Once I did further research, including talking to several people that had received Botox before, my interests grew rapidly in this cosmetic service. Then, when I received my first treatment with Botox, and realized the results, I became excited about offering this service to my patients.
In 2004, I relocated to Paducah after completing Obstetrics and Gynecology training in Louisville, KY. I was very excited about bringing the expertise that I gained in my training to Western Kentucky. I quickly became a busy practitioner delivering babies and providing minimally invasive surgery to many women. I had heard about Botox and other cosmetic procedures that were beginning to be offered here, but I never considered starting this practice. Now, I am not sure why I didn't start this years ago.
Earlier in 2011, I received training in facial enhancement cosmetics which included Botox. I quickly became interested in this as I realized all of the benefits that I could be offering my patients. It wasn't until I received it myself did I literally become excited. It wasn't the comments from others about how young I looked. It wasn't how I felt that others perceived me. It was how I felt about myself. It was that feeling of youth when I looked in the mirror. I didn't look tired. As a result, I didn't feel tired. Although we don't always get this result, I even noticed a reduction in tension headaches. I was sold!!
As a provider of cosmetic services at Medical Spa 7, I couldn't be any happier. Although I love my medical practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the atmosphere at the spa is so relaxing. I enjoy spending time with my patients discussing different plans to make them feel and look younger.
